North Norfolk Railway Terms and Conditions

Whist every effort will be made to adhere to the published timetable, all dates, times and services are subject to amendment or cancellation.

The North Norfolk Railway Plc. cannot be held responsible for any loss or inconvenience should it become necessary to alter or cancel the advertised services.

The NNR reserve the right to ask any member of the public to leave the railway if it is deemed necessary to do so, including if they are seen using abusive language, unruly behaviour that is likely to cause themselves or others harm or damage any property.

Dogs are allowed to travel, but are not allowed to stand on the seating or tables. You may be asked to leave if they do so.

No alcohol other than that purchased on the railway may be consumed on our property. You will be asked to leave if you do so.

Tickets should be purchased at the station ticket office before boarding the train. It is an offence to travel without a ticket.

Late Arrivals

We advise you to check the timetable before travelling and allow at least 30 minutes before the time of departure to park your car, purchase your tickets and board the train.

Under no circumstances will the train be delayed for latecomers, even if the rest of the party is already on the train.

No refunds will be given for missed trains.

Bookings - General

All bookings are subject to availability, varying ticket terms and conditions may apply.

You may pay over the phone by credit card or you can call into the Enquiries Office located in the Souvenir Shop at Sheringham Station and pay cash. Bookings can also be made via our online shop. An administration fee may be applicable on some bookings.

All payments should be made in one transaction. Payment by instalments is not accepted for any bookings.

When payment has been received your tickets will emailed to you directly unless specifically requested to be posted where an additional charge will be administered.

Changes, Cancellations and Refunds

It may be possible to change the date and time of a ticket once it has been confirmed, depending on the type and availability within the same calendar year.

Changes will carry a minimum of £5.00 administration fee.

If you choose not to use your ticket, refunds are not available under any circumstance.

 

 

Damage

Passengers will be held responsible for any damages they may cause to any part of the railway stock or premises and will be charged the full cost of repairs.

Group Bookings

All bookings are treated as provisional until a minimum of 25% of the total cost has been received as a deposit. The deposit must be received within 7 days of booking or the order will be cancelled without notice.

The client must inform the North Norfolk Railway of the anticipated group numbers and required train not less than 7 days before the date of travel.

Final numbers must be given to the NNR at least 48 hours prior to the booked date. The amount payable by the client will be calculated on this final number or who actually attend, whichever is the greatest.

Payment of the remaining balance is due on the day of travel and is payable at the Enquiries Office in the Souvenir Shop at Sheringham Station, unless credit has been prearranged with the North Norfolk Railway before the travel date. Where credit is agreed the client should pay within 28 days of the invoice.

The deposit is not refundable, although it may be possible to transfer the booking to another date. An administration fee of £5 may be charged.

Full payment will be required unless 7 days notice of cancellation is given in writing.

Damage

The client will be held responsible for any damages caused by the clients or their guests, agents, employees etc and will be charged the full cost of repairs.

Special Events

Special Fares will apply for these events. See the individual leaflets for details.

Tickets purchased in advance may have a discount if purchased 7 days before the event.

All tickets are ‘day rover tickets’ and do not have reserved seats.

Passengers with tickets do not need to visit the ticket offices and can board the trains at any of our stations.

Full payment is required at the time of booking.

Dining Trains

Tickets must be purchased in advance.

Tickets include travel and a 3-course meal. Seating is reserved.

Full payment for tickets must be at the time of booking.

Menu choices must be received no later than 7 days before the date of travel.

Santa Specials

Tickets include travel, seasonal refreshment and a visit to the grotto. Children are entitled to see Santa and receive a present.

Adults cannot travel without a child in attendance and vice versa.

Nobody is permitted to travel without a ticket, regardless of their age.

Passengers under 1 year of age are classed as infants, children are aged between 1 and 14 years of age and passengers over 14 years old are classed as adults.

Only infants and children receive presents from Santa.

The railway must be notified of any children or adults with special needs at the time of booking and we will make every effort to accommodate them.

Tickets must be shown at reception and then taken through the grotto with you, in order to see Santa.
